Summary | 0002192: Windows 8, 8.1 hang with SMART |
---|
Description | When SF does the probe on Windows 8, it takes a really long time to complete and the whole system hangs while it happens. On windows 8.1 it sometimes never completes. Starting with /NOSMARTSCAN works around. It turns out that this is only a problem with the default Microsoft AHCI drivers - when I switch to the AMD Sata driver (i.e. from AMD website) the problem is resolved. |
---|
Steps To Reproduce | Windows 8.1 with 990FX chipset. I have both an SSD (samsung 830) and a WD spinning drive. |
