Summary0002165: CPU shows 128c while cores show 30c-34c with NCT6776F
DescriptionMy computer has been acting oddly (freezing up for 10-15 seconds, and then "catching up" with itself). I wanted to check the temperatures, so I set up SpeedFan. The BIOS says the CPU temp is fine (30c+) while SpeedFan shows a Flame next to CPU and 128c for the temp. The cores all show 30c-34c. I am concerned that something is seriously wrong with a temp so high, but SpeedFan is the only one reporting it so far. I'm going to try a few more programs as well.

Don't worry. That reading means that the manufacturer didn't actually use the "CPU" line in of the hardware monitor chip. Ignore it and rely on the (correct) CORE readings.
