Summary | 0002154: MAX of speed problem
Description | I select multiple temperatures to control a fan, method is "max of speed" I observe that the effective fan speed is not the maximum of the speed of each of the response graphs, but usually (under load) much higher. I could not find a mathematical correlation of the observed speed and the settings of the response graphs.
Steps To Reproduce | Set fan control with curve for GPU temperature. Fan speed has to increase after GPU temp of 82 C or higher. It works fine. Add temperature control on same fan based on CPU temperature, method is "max of speed". Fan speed has to increase at CPU temp of 60 C or higher. Observation : after starting a game, CPU and GPU temp start increasing. Even when measured temperatures stay below both CPU and GPU thresholds, fan speed still increases to near maximum speed.
