| Description | The CPU fan idles at 700 RPM. Fan speed goes above 2000 RPM after every boot, wakeup, and high CPU temperature. Once the fan gets above 2000 RPM, the fan idles at 2000 RPM. To get idle fan idle speed back down to 700 RPM, I rest "Thermal Cruise" manually: Configure > Advanced > Chip: Nuvoton NCT6776F change "PWM 2 mode" Property to "Manual" Value, then back to "Thermal Cruise", click OK I repeat this after every boot, wakeup, and high CPU temperature. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Here is how I Configured my SpeedFan: Readings tab > Configure button > Temperatures tab > CPU > Core0 > Desired:40 C, Warning: 60 C > check: CPU > Core1 > Desired:40 C, Warning: 60 C > check: CPU > Fans tab > uncheck all except for CPU Fan > Speeds tab > uncheck: Sys and Aux > check: CPU, Minimum value: 0%, Maximum value 90% check: Automatically variated > Fan Control tab > check Advanced fan control Fan controllers: CPU Fan Control Strategy1 check: Controlled speed select: CPU - CPU from Nuvonton NCT6776F (temperature sensors) Method: MAX of speeds Temperatures: Core0, Core1 Response: for both Core0 and Core1, adjust blue curve to pass through (36C,0%),(48C,30%),(60C,100%) Hysteresis: 1 C > Advanced tab > Chip: Nuvoton NCT6776F select Property "PWM 2 mode" set Value to "Thermal Cruise" check: "remember it" | ||||
| Additional Information | When UEFI fan setting is "Automatic", and SpeedFan is off, CPU fan idles at 2000 RPM. SpeedFan idle speeds are the same if UEFI fan setting is "Full On" or "Automatic". The PC only has one fan. The CPU fan is a Rosewill RCX-Z90-CP: RPM 600 ~ 3000 ±10% 4 Pin (PWM) power connector 92mm PWM Fan | ||||
