Summary | 0002090: (4.48 beta 6) Asus P8Z77-V LK - cannot control motherboard fan speeds
Description | SpeedFan is able to change desired fan speed, but actual fan speed cannot be changed. I've set up rules which work (the percentage changes depending on the temperature), but the fans don't change speed - manually changing the percentage doesn't work either. I believe this issue is related: http://www.bugtrack.almico.com/view.php?id=2017 However, 4.47 beta 4 is no longer available. I grabbed the only beta which is available (4.48 beta 6), but I am getting the same behaviour as with 4.47.
Additional Information | I have 2 4-pin fans wired to CPU_FAN and CHA1_FAN. Using Q-Fan in UEFI I can change the speed, but having a 60% minimum on the chassis fan is noisy. Using Asus' Fan Xpert 2 I can manually control the fan speed, but the automatic speed instantly jumps to 100% if the temperature goes up 1 degree while running a full-screen application, so I know the fans are able to be controlled. SpeedFan is able to directly and automatically control the attached GPU fan, so it's working in some capacity.
