Summary | 0000206: manual control: when cpu fan is stopped it can not be re-run
Description | I use the last official version of Speedfan (4.21). When I switch to automatic control and the fan is stopped and when I want to switch back in manual control the fan can not be re-run. Gz
Steps To Reproduce | Run Speedfan Switch in automatic control with a low temperature -> the fan is completely stopped - I did not put any control rules before checking the automatic control checkbox. If I uncheck the automatic control checkbox with 100% for the CPU fan speed. The fan is not re-run. To re-run the fan I have to use my finger to give the pulse. My fans are Textorm DB killer 120mm. It looks like your fan doesn't like PWM control. Either enter CONFIG / ADVANCED and select a different PWM CLOCK or do not change fan speeds for your fan or select fan speeds that do not cause the fan to stop (like I suggest in the tutorial and online). |
|
Could you indicate me how I can know the PWM clock I have to use? My motherboard is a DFI lanparty ut nf3 250Gb and I use 3 textorm db-killer 120mm which seem to be the actual best choice for silent/cold compromise. cheers, chris |

I searched on the web and I found the temperature measurement is managed by a chip winbond W39V040AP . Do you know if this is the pwm clock I have to configure and if it is posible to select this model. |
|
Here you can find further info about PWM control: http://www.almico.com/sfarticle.php?id=1 Basically, you have to experiment. It depends on additional circuitry used and on your fan. W39V040A is a flash memory and not an hardware monitor. |

Are you satisfied with my answer? Can I close this issue? |
