Summary | 0002039: Fan control algorithm behaving as expected? | ||||
Description | I have a long time familiarity with SF even though I haven't looked at in quite some time, that is, until I rebuilt my system recently. I'm wondering about the current algorithm to adjust fan speeds. I have my delta set at 7 which means, I believe, the temperature should have to increase by roughly 14 degrees before the fan reaches 100%. I have been watching it, and this does not seem to be behavior I observe. The fan speed can reach 100% even though the temperature has increased by only a few degrees. It's more like the speed will keep increasing by the delta (per some unit of time) until the 'desired temperature' is again attained. Or is the algorithm not behaving as expected?
