I, too, found some unexpected behavior with my ASUS board (M4A79 Deluxe). In my case both Pwm1 and Pwm2 controlled the CPU fan, but in different ways. Pwm2 alone would control the whole range, 0-100%, while Pwm1 alone would only take the fan down to about 28%. I had to play around with both to get what I wanted. Btw, are all 3 of your PWMs set to 'software controlled'? Changing any one to SmartGuardian seemed to change the behavior of the others, and sometimes would not return control to SmartGuardian without a reboot. I didn't play around with it long enough to detect an overall pattern. It was enough just to get a pattern for what I was trying to accomplish. Although, I have a feeling Pwm2 is more of a global control, perhaps a part of the ASUS thermal protection feature. Or, the odd behavior may have something to do with the 8+2 Phase Power Design. That is not something particularly new so I would suspect SF takes that into account...somehow, tho I would guess it would be tricky. |
