Summary0000183: CPU Temperatur isn't read out properly via ACPI
DescriptionNone of the temperatures read is the CPU temperature. Starting CPUCool parallel to speedfan makes speedfan's "ACPI temp1" display the correct value.
Steps To ReproduceWhen I just use speedfan I can control the speed of the CPU fan via pwm1 and the fan speed of all fans is reported correctly. Unfortunatly none of the temperatures (temp1 IT8712F, temp2 IT8712F 2, temp3 IT8712F 3, temp1 ACPI) shows the CPU temperature. When I run prime95 none of them changes. When I start CPUCool together with speedfan the "temp1 ACPI" suddenly displays the correct CPU temperature. The moment I quit CPUCool the "temp1 ACPI" stops displaying the correct values.

Do you have any idea about which is the chip located on the SMBus at address $4C? SpeedFan says it is a GL523SM, but this is an old chip and I'm not sure.

No, sorry. I've no idea. I would try to locate it on the motherboard but without knowing about what to search for this could be difficult. If you know another tool that can list SMBus devices I'll try that. Did the "PDFs" I sent you contain anything helpful?

Please, send me a SEND REPORT with SpeedFan 4.21 (I just released it).
Please, use an email address where you can receive a 1MB ZIP file containing an EXE :-)

It is quite difficult for me to use the report this way.
Could you, please, SEND it directly via SpeedFan?
