Summary | 0000175: Speedfan no longer reads any data (possible related to service)
Description | Whenever Speedfan is started, the following error message appears: "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." This first occurred when upgrading from 4.19. Also occurs with uninstall and clean install, with a fresh boot each time. 4.19 ran with no problems.
Steps To Reproduce | Install 4.20, start program.

Try to run SpeedFan with the following command line option: /NOACPISCAN |
That fixes the problem. What is the ACPI scan anyway? |
ACPI scan tries to access the temperature published by the ACPI, a feature of the BIOS. SpeedFan 4.21 will fix this issue that seems to happen occasionally on some WMI implementations. |
