Summary | 0001476: Speedfan can detect eSATA drive on Windows XP, but not Windows 2003
Description | I just got this eSATA/PCI Express adapter (Syba SD-SA2PEX-2E, SIL3132 chipset): http://it.us.syba.com/product/43/02/10/index.html I dual boot my system, between Windows 2003 (my main OS) and Windows XP (mainly for testing), and I tested with that eSATA adapter under Windows XP initially. One of the things I was testing for was whether Speedfan would be able to see drives attached via the eSATA adapter. When I tested with Speedfan 4.39 on Windows XP, Speedfan could access the drive information, and also the SMART information. However, when I booted into Windows 2003 (on the same physical machine), Speedfan 4.39 cannot see the drive attached to the above eSATA adapter. Do you have any idea why?
