Summary | 0000144: P4C800-E deluxe fan control works correct, only after restart
Description | Hello Alfredo, I use a P4C800-E deluxe board. I can only get the cpu-fan to work properly (0%=off, 100%=full on). The other two fans are only reported correctly, but I cant change the speed of them (molex). Maybe I am doing something wrong, or have wrong fans. Thats my experience, even with other mainboards, I got only CPU to work properly. In the BIOS settings I always checked off the cool n quiet technology, cause yours works much better for me. Normal CPU speed was between 2000-3000 RPM, but now with speedfan I have 800 RPMs. When I boot XP for the first time, Speedfan is showing 0 RPMs for CPU. After making a restart (no shutdown), its showing me the right value of 850 RPMs. I dont know, if this is a bug, but thats my experience. Greetz u-man
Steps To Reproduce | First boot into XP = no correct RPM display After restart (no shutdown) = correct RPM display

In the title you say that "fan control works correct only after restart", but your description seems to say that you're talking about RPMs fan speed reporting and not about fan control. If you have troubles reading RPMs, try to enter CONFIG / ADVANCED and select an higher FAN DIVISOR. |

Hello again, You are right alfredo. It was my mistake, cause I tried to explain two different problems in one post, with a wrong headline. I will try it again. 1st problem: I can only change the speed of the CPU Fan, the other fans (3pin, molex connectors) are only RPM reported correcty, but I cant change the speed in no way (0%>100% its the same. 0% should be off (like CPU Fan) but the are still on, with 1500 RPM. However the other two fans can change the speed, if I enable Cool n Quiet Technology of the Mainboard. So I am assuming, that I am doing something wrong with Speedfan, because I cant control the speed of the other two fans, even with other selected divisors. 2nd problem: When I start my PC the first time, Speedfan reports me 0 RPM for the CPU Fan. After a restart (no shutdown), Speedfan reports correctly 850 RPMs for the CPU Fan. If I change the divisor, I make it only badlier, resulting in silly RPMs of 23000 and stuff like that. What I found interesting here is, that after a restart the CPU Fan display works correct. Anyway cool software. Greetz u-man |

Hello I've got the exact same motherboard (Asus P4C800-E Delux) and I also would like to change my case fans. They are now spinning at 1600 rpm even if I change the speed. Maybe the motherboard doesn't support changing the case fans or is there a way to this in advanced settings? |

On P4C800-E DELUXE there is only a transitor driver connected to cpu-fan, so you can change only cpu-fan speed. Power-fan and case-fan are steady connected to +12V: no driver, no transistor, no relais, nothing!!!;-)))) |
