I'm worried since I get "bad checksum"s at speedfan init. Can I trust the temperature data ?

If the message is related to the disk named before these messages, this disk is a PATA disk accessed by a marvel controller.

I don't know the reason why that checksum is incorrect. I'm tempted not to show any info when it's incorrect, but I think that some RAID controllers somehow *mix* the information from both hard disks to create a resulting *fake* smart sector. Quite upsetting...

the two first disks are on a separate controller, the last one (causing these messages ?) is the only one one the marvell.

unfortunately no, I can only connect the PATA disk to the only IDE port that is connected to the marvell controller
