| Description | Hello, I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-UD4H motherboard and I see there isn't a configuration to download for it yet. Is there anyone with the motherboard that can post up a configuration for it? | ||||

What exact problem do you have? How many fans do you want to control? Where are they attached? What readings does Speedfan provide? What doesn't work? |

I get a reading of my two fans that are hooked up via 3-pin power, and my processor fan but I cannot control them. I'm using a similar Gigabyte board setup but it doesn't allow me to control speed. |

Where did you attach the fans? Usually only CPU_FAN and SYS_FAN2 are able to control fans (3- and 4pin). Did you select "voltage" or "DC" control in the BIOS? Did you change PWM Mode (under advanced settings) to "software controlled"? |

I've tried both of the ways you mentioned but it still says that they're at 100% on the module but they aren't. It would be nice for them to actually work with the automatic fan speed setting, or even manually controlling them (which would be the same thing I suppose). |

GotToyota, I have that same board and fan control works fine. Make sure you go into the advanced options and choose software controlled for each of the fans. However my SMART monitoring is broken. does that work for you? |

I'm not sure where you're finding the "software controlled" option. Can you guide me through the BIOS step-by-step on where to change the option for it? And are you using a pre-configured setup or standard config with the program? EDIT: Nevermind I found it, thanks guys. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the auto fan speed option. Any other tweaks you recommend concerning this board? |

GotToyota, have you set your temperature thresholds and then gone into the speed setting tab and check automatically variate (you will have to do this for each fan)? This works for me. Sorry to ask again, but is your SMART HDD monitoring working? |

I honestly don't know how to do any of that. And how can I check to see if my SMART HDD is working or not? |

To set up automatic fan settings you will need to look at the Temperatures tab and the Speed tab in Config. You set which fans correspond to each temp. sensor and then you set your desired temp. for that sensor. When the temperature for that sensor rises the fans speed up. But as I said, you'll have to go to the speed tab and check the automatically variate check box for them to be enabled. |

The automatically variated worked, much thanks. If you don't mind me asking, what did you set your desired temperatures for? What would you recommend as a minimum fan speed for all of them? And should I set the processor higher for that setting than say my case fans? |

SMART monitoring only works when Speedfan is started with admin rights. |

GotToyota - have you uploaded your configuration? which fan connectors did you use, e.g., you connected your rear case fan to fan connector 2? |
