Summary | 0001371: Temperatures Suddenly Change Driving Up Fan Speeds |
---|
Description | I have an ASUS Maximus II Formula with an Intel Core 2 Duo (W83267DHG on the board). The PC is set up for air cooling using a CPU dedicated ducted fan with a Thermalright HR-01 cooler and a case fan. Speedfan runs well, although not all fan connector ports are discovered when the program is first installed. Occasionally though, something triggers Speedfan to lose control of the temperatures and drive the fan speeds to 100%. I cannot find anyway to reset Speedfan without rebooting the machine. For example, my CPU temp typcially hovers around 22C; suddenly it will jump to 109C and the fan will speed up accordingly. |

Steps To Reproduce | Random event - have not been able to reproduce |
---|
Additional Information | The PC was idling the last time this happened, so whatever is causing this is not due to my activation of software. I cannot find anything in Window logs that correlate with this and there are no background apps running that look suspicious. |
