sorry...some typing errors from my side and i didnt`t found a place to correct them.

Headline: Speed freeze while collecting S.M.A.R.T should be: Speedfan freeze while collecting S.M.A.R.T

Description: I changed my HD from IDE to SMART.... should be: I changed my HD from IDE to S-ATA.....

and last but not least.. SATA30TX2 PLUS >> SATA300TX2 PLUS

Hello, usually this means that the driver is not properly supporting the relevant calls (even to just report a NOT IMPLEMENTED). Try to update the driver.
To disable smart scanning, run SpeedFan with the /NOSMARTSCAN command line parameter.

Hello Alfredo,

thanks for your reply. Yes, the SATA controller doesn`t support SMART to save bandwidth on the pci bus. But now everything is fine with the startoption. I

This is really strange...i start now Speedfan withe the option /NOSMARTSCAN. So far so good...but... now Speedfan creates after each shutdown (system) a new startentry in the systemconfiguration with the debug?? file (e.g. 01000002E110DE06401462.bios). That means, Speedfan starts twice, once with the startoption and once without and the system freeze again....grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hm...Debug Modus is disabled actually

That .bios file is not a debug file. It's just a buffer to avoid reading the video card bios every time SpeedFan starts. I'm sorry, it's late and I must be missing something, but I can't understand the part about "a new startentry in the systemconfiguration" and about SpeedFan starting twice.
