| Description | This SpeedFan version worked fine for some months now on this system. This morning when I booted up the system froze completely when SpeedFan was loading. Only reset could help. I did no hardware change and some software change the last days (I installed different antivirus and antispyware scanner since I believed I had a virus on my PC, which turned out to be a heuristic false positive. But none of this programs are active when starting up. Further I was installing, trying out, and uninstalling Freenet/Darknet v0.7, finally I installed the Creative Zen software which opens some updater when XP starts up). I will try to find out what's the matter. | ||||

I think I found the problem: It's one of the Creative Zen programs. I detected them via HijackThis and closed them in the task manager. After this I was able to start and close SpeedFan for about 15 times. It's the following files: C:\Programme\Creative\Creative Media Lite\CTZDetec.exe C:\Programme\Creative\Software Update 3\SoftAuto.exe C:\Programme\Creative\Shared Files\CTDevSrv.exe They come with the Creative Media Lite software suite, version 1.51.03. |
