Please, have a look at the help file. There should be (I'm away from my PC at the moment) a "How to configure" section. The initial main purpose of SpeedFan (now it has grown to include several other interesting features) was to let the user slow down fans. The next step was to let the user configure SpeedFan to automatically change fan speeds according to system temperatures. Motherboards evolved and nowadays several motherboards can change fan speeds using either hardware or software methods. With those additional checkboxes available on the SPEEDS tab you can instruct SpeedFan to automatically change only some fan speeds, leaving others to either a completely manual intervention or to some other tool's intervention. Are things a little bit clearer now? |
