Summary0001252: Unable to control HSF speed without GB's I-cool app being open
DescriptionThe speed of any of my fans can not be controlled via speedfan without Gigabyte's proprietary and non functioning Icool program running at the same time. Normally I would not mind however it seems this program can be directly linked to locking up my system if it starts at the same time I ask for HD access, most commonly by the My Computer link.

Icool can be run either before or after SpeedFan is opened and full functionality is granted. However closing icool at any time causes SpeedFan to lose control.
Steps To ReproduceOpen speedfan without Icool being open already or without the two apps being opena t the same time.
Additional InformationGigabyte GA-MA770-DS3

I just sent a report via SpeedFan's Info tab a few minutes ago.

Have not been able to come up with any Google results of others having similar problems.

I will be able to upload the installer for Icool upon request. Attempting to find a version of it on GB's website that supports this particular mobo seems to be confusing at best. However I do have the driver disc with the installer.

Usually, on Gigabyte's, it is enough to enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and set PWM MODE to SOFTWARE CONTROLLED or MANUAL.

Did this, works, thank you much! Was there any documentation on that which I probably missed?

I think that some other issues here were similar to this one. It's in the help file too, but I plan to write a page on the web site about this as it is a vey common issue.
It would be nice if you could send me an email with an official URL to your specific motherboard model so that I could add it to the online listing of supported motherboards.
