I tested the 3 parameters you have telled first, but the same systemhangup. The /NOSCSISCAN i will test now. One more information: the last action of Speedfan before Hangup is: "8800GTS is found" I testet /NOSCSISCAN , but the same Problem.... |

I tried /NONVIDIATEMP but the same Problem. After that i tried to call speedfan in windows-Safemode but everytime the same problem. Can i activate a debugmode, to see at which point the hangup occurs? |

This is really odd. Did you still see the message about the 8800GTS? The switch that eliminates most things is /NOPCISCAN, but this is the first time in years that I have to suggest it. |

The Problem occured again. I think, the problem did not occure while scanning. In the text-output-Field i see many messages but then speedfan and windows freezes. In the meanwhile i configured speedfan to start in "admin-mode", but the same. I used the sf.cmd (upload No. 3) to start speedfan with all Switches. I installed the Version 4.34 and then i replaced the .exe file from the 4.35 Beta download. A question: I'm using here a PCI-Express Adaptec-Raidcontroller. Is it possible, that the hangup occures during the scan for SMART-Harddrives to display Harddrive-temperatures? |

/NOSCSCISCAN and /NOSMARTSCAN removed the checks related to the hard disks. What I still can't understand is if you experience a simple application crash or a complete system crash. In case of a simple application crash, DEBUG.NFO will contain very important data. Feel free to upload it and remember which switch was used to run SpeedFan. |

Ok, I will try again to explain what happens in my bad english :) Last try I started SpeedFan from a Desktop-Link with the following "Target"-String: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SpeedFan\speedfan.exe" /NOGIVEIO On the Compatibilty-Tab I configured "Run as Administrator". Then SpeedFan started and the Window appears. In the small Text-Area some "scan and found" messages were displayed. But then nothing more happens, but the Busy-Mousepointer continues zu circle around. If i want to klick on the window-Close-Button in the top-Right corner of Speedfan-Window, nothing happens, but the Window-Title was changed to "no respond". But the window will not close. At this moment i cannot start any other application. I cannot open the taskmanger, i cannot shutdown the pc. I can only push on the reset-button to restart. It is not a real-crash, it is more like a computer-freeze. Ok, the last try was ONLY with the /NOGIVEIO switch, but the same freeze. I append the debug.nfo for this try soon. |

Thank you. Now the picture of what happens is clear. I'm trying to understand what's causing this. This debug2.nfo is more interesting. Unfortunately, this is the very first time in years that I experience a similar issue. When SpeedFan starts it spawns some threads and the debug.nfo file is filled out of order. This makes my analysis a little bit more difficult, but I can see that the system hangs very soon. Could you remind me what is your OS, CPU, RAM and HARD DISK? |
