Summary | 0001129: Restricted Windows XP users
Description | I want to run SpeedFan as a restricted user (not Windows Administrator) but the program always wants to save its configuration file which it can't save due the restrictions. How to run SpeedFan in a such environment?

What if you allow all users to write to SpeedFan's directory? |
|
Yes, when I add write permissions for SpeedFan's directory to restricted user it works OK. Thanks. Can I block user to prevent the application from unloading (I mean that only Administrator can do this)? And do you plan to add a feature to SpeedFan to write its events to Windows Event Log? |
|
I don't think that you can restrict a user from doing such a specific operation, but there is a thread here about running SpeedFan as a service. |
