Summary | 0001063: computer turned off and will not turn back on
Description | I downloaded the .exe from almico.com called installspeedfan433.exe. after it downloaded to my desktop I double clicked it to install. At this point prior to being able to see any eroor messages or anything my computer directly shut down similar to the power going out, it just turned off immediately. Now however the scary thing is I can no longer turn on my computer. When I press the power button the fans start up and the lights blink on the front but I get no visual on the screen and my computer is making a beeping sound internally. It just sits like that. Does not even go far enoguh for me to get into the BIOS screen. What happened? any help or information would be appreciated. I am not 100% what motherboard I have however I can tell you that I have a Dell XPS computer. Please ask any questions you have and I will do my best to answer them.

Ok, so after posting this I went and disconnected the power and gave it about 1 min then reconnected and now it powers up normally. However would still like to find out what happened so it doesnt happen again. |

I was going to answer, but I see that you already found the solution. My answer would have been to unplug the power cable for 15 seconds. In order to find the cause for this I need to see the DEBUG.NFO file. It can be found in SpeedFan's directory. Could you, please, upload it here using the UPLOAD FILE button? Thank you. |
|
Did you try the latest SpeedFan 4.34 beta? Do you have any update to this issue? If you run SpeedFan with /NOSMBSCAN and you no longer experience the issue, then you can follow the instructions contained in the help file to do a SMBUS DEBUG procedure. If you send me the results of that procedure I will be able to create a new version that will no longer power off your pc. |

Do you have any update? Should I close this issue? |

I had a similar problem. During installation, my computer froze (did not automatically reboot) and I had to press reset. After this, I could not boot, even to the BIOS setup. I had to unplug/replug the power cable to be able to boot. The log file was 0 bytes. I have an Asus P5KC motherboard, Intel E8400 CPU, Asus EN9600GT video card. |
