Summary0002648: SpeedFan does not communicate Embedded Controller (EC) on ASUS motherboards, thereby ignoring external sensors
DescriptionSee title. Basically ASUS uses an embedded controller (EC) to manage the external sensors (T_Sensor etc.) on their motherboards. Speedfan does not communicate with this controller, so these external sensors cannot be used in combination with Speedfan. HWInfo64 and AIDA64 are able to read out those external sensors with no problems.
Steps To ReproduceLaunch Speedfan, note that the external sensors are not listed under the 'Temperatures' tab.
Additional InformationI tested on a ASUS Prime Z270-A, but I think all ASUS motherboards with external sensor support (which there are a lot of) are affected.

I face the same issue with the exact same Mobo : ASUS Prime Z270-A. I would appreciate the sensor so I could adjust Fan speed according to my water temp in my radiators. Thanks.

I would like to add my vote for an enhancement to support ASUS motherboards with an embedded controller.
