0001504: Can't get HD temps with this version

Version 4.32 shows HD temps, but not GPU temps. Version 4.39 shows GPU temps but not HD temps. Am I doing something wrong? I've become accustomed to seeing my HD temps and I know my GPU runs hot (nVidia 8800GTX). Is there any way I can get all preferred temps to show up?

0001460: Speedfan very slow at startup

Because Speedfan scans so much hardware every time it starts, the startup is extremely slow (compared to other applications). Alfredo, it would be great if the hardware would only be scanned the first time with the addition of a button to rescan the hardware if needed.

There could also be an option to select wether Speedfan should scan all hardware every time or use the procedure that I described above.

0001503: LPC47M292 fan control (still) not possible

The LPC47M292 device is being discoverd but unlikely not controlable.
Since MSI stoped developing PC Alert for NFORCE2 Boards the CPU is heating up to 73 degrees and the the fan is starting to blow full speed, what causes extreme noise on MSI MEGA 180 platform and causes hardware damage within a very short lifetime. Is it possible to enable this device (LPC47M292) in SpeedFan even when it's totaly "outdated"?

SpeedFan 4.39 is being started with XP SP3 compatibility mode to have access to smart features and to be able to bind to the hw interfaces directly w/o passing Windows UAC.

0001444: Speedfan crash on launch

First attempt to run immediately after installing SpeedFan, while running several programs (Outlook, ImgBurn, VirtuaWin, others) --> system crash (screen went blank, no response to keyboard input, hard to hard reboot).

Second attempt, after restarting, with few programs running --> will not start, brings up Microsoft crash report dialog, and shows a popunder window that says, "Runtime error 217 at 004DA244".

0001502: Cant control fan speeds for Gigabyte MA770-UD3

I just installed a new case fan in. I am unable to control the speed of it though.
I heard that i need to set the PWM mode to Software controled, but I dont know which chip to choose in advance and I dont know which PWM mode to choose. I know it is hard to say without having my Mobo, but let me know which information you need and I will provide it.

0001501: No fan control after wake up

When computer is manually waked-up after suspend, there is no fan control. Speed stay set to 10% (about 1000 rpm) but speed of fan is about 2000 rpm. After turning on (or restarting) it works correctly for one minute and then is the same situation as after wake-up.

0001500: Labels and settings do not stick

It seems the SF periodically looses either some or all of the customized settings through system reboots. I have to recreate labels, hi/low thresholds and label positions. This occurs after an OS reboot/restart.

0001499: Incorrect/Missing Temperatures and Voltages

Speedfan reports the following temps for this board:
GPU - 44C
Temp1 - 7C
Temp2 - -55C
Temp3 - -128C
Core - 15C

and the following voltages:
+3.3V - 1.87V
+5V - 5.03V
+12V - 8.58V
-12V - -16.72V
-5V - 8.48V
+5V - 4.97V

The Chip for all these is reported as IT8718F. I takes a long while to scan the SMBUS. It doesn't detect the Samsung HD502IJ SATA hard drive at all.

CPUID Hardware Monitor v1.13 reports the same voltages, except:
-12V - -0.19V
-5V - -0.38V

and the following temps:
TMPIN0 - 6C
ACPI - THRM - 30C
Core - 15C
GPU Core - 44C
HDD - 24C

0001498: Rampage II Gene, only CPU fan is detected, and cpu temp anomaly, and SMART not displayed

The 2 Case, and 2 Optional Fans are not detected.

Everest can read these however.

Also, the Core diode temps are duplicated,

for instance, in speed fan

Temps
1 and 2 = temp 1
3 and 4 = temp 2
5 and 6 = temp 3
7 and 8 = temp 4

Finally, the SMART status is not displayed, I know the hdd's support smart as they worked on another mainboard, also the smart values appear in everest, so it might just be a OS issue?.

0001493: Previous version 4.38 shows SMART tags but new 4.39 reports as "Unknown Attribute"

My mainboard is Gigabyte GA-8SIMLH and hardisk is Samsung SP0802N (80GB)on the previous version 4.38 I have no problem with SMART values and temperature value but after installing version 4.39 Speedfan could not report harddisk temperature and reports SMART values as "Unknown Attribute". After restarting Windows I can access SMART values with other programs but when I run the Speedfan 4.39 the other program is also stop showing SMART values.

0001497: Ignore invalid fan speed in charts

For the chassis fan I get periodically meaningless speed information (0 RPM and about 168000 RPM), then plausible speeds. This happens also in the bios setup so it isn't a problem of your program, but it renders the chart useless because SpeedFan scales the chart from 0 to 168000.

So I would like an option to make SpeedFan ignore values outside a certain range (it could just use the last valid value instead).

0001495: 4.39 doesnt adjust fan speed, 4.27 does

I recently installed Windows 7 on my media center. I also installed the latest release of speedfan (4.39). With 4.39 five fans are reported. When I adjust the fanspeed with the up/down arrows on the main screen, nothing happens (I dont hear the fan go slower). I had a 4.27 version of speedfan installed on my windows xp media center (only three fans are reported with this version). When I start version 4.27 from Windows 7 (from Windows.old), I can adjust the fanspeed (I hear the fan go slower). The strange is when I then close version 4.27 and start 4.39 again, I can adjust the fanspeed with 4.39 also.

Another strange with Windows 7 I have is that speedfan doesnt want to start automatically on startup, although a shortcut is in the Menu Start/Programs/Startup directory (it does start when I double click the shortcut).

0001496: No UI interaction after starting

I just switched from 4.37 (I think) to 4.39 in Windows 7. The previous version was working well, but I wanted to get rid of the UAC prompt so I decided to try the new version.

I uninstalled the old version and installed the new version. Now when I start SpeedFan, it shows the fan icon in the system tray, but it never shows the CPU temperature. Also when I right click on the icon it does not produce a context menu. The only way I can slose it is to open the task manager and close the SpeedFan process.

0001383: PC87427 Support

This board has an active connected PC87427. Is there any possibility of PC87427 support in future versions of Speedfan?

0001494: Startup issue

This is not really a bug but I still need help. I have a Vista sidebar gadget that uses SpeedFan data. I added SpeedFan to the Startup folder but it seems to launch after the sidebar gadget is already active, so I always have to close the gadget and restart it so that it can access SpeedFan. Is there a way to launch SpeedFan earlier, before the gadget starts? Thanks.

0001490: No fan control

This PC has been running Speedfan without problem for two years with Windows XP. I now have a dual-boot with Windows 7 RC1 and runing Speedfan in Windows 7 starts OK and appears to be running normally (no error messages) but has no control over fan1 (CPU fan) fan speed is shown (1750rpm)but this cannot be changed in auto or manual. Configuration has been setup identical to the Window XP/SP3 OS which is still working OK.

0001467: Missing some fan speeds and voltages

Three fan speeds appear on the Speeds screen. The first one is the fan at the rear of my case. While I can change it's speed there is nothing on the Readings screen that shows it and it's RPM.

The second fan is my CPU fan and that appears along with it's RPM. I can change speeds. Everything appears to be normal.

The third fan is in the bottom front of my case. I can't do anything with this fan and it doesn't display at all on the Readings screen.

In my BIOS the first two fans appear along with their RPM's. But every other program I tried under windows 7 only shows the CPU fan just like SF.

Also, only three voltages appear on the main screen; Vcore, +12v, and AVcc. Shouldn't there be others?

I also can't do anything with my video card. It's detected but that's about it.

0001492: Incorrect core/thread load display

If i see my 8 threads in SpeedFan 4.39 i see that the width of the bars are too small (there's a lot of space between the last bar and the percentage of cpu load).

0001485: Cannot detect fans

Hi, I have a Asus P5P55D motherboard. When I start speedfan, it couldn't detect the fans, as in when I click "Configure", there is nothing showing under the fans tab. Thanks

0001491: CPU fan speed = 0 without Asus Probe

When Speedfan runs at startup the displayed CPU fan speed is 0 although the fan is running. After I have additionally started Asus Probe II the fan speed is displayed correctly by Speedfan. I have an Asus Board with Q-Fan activated and a PWM CPU fan.

0001488: speedfan.sys corrupt or missing causes windows to "fail to start"

installed 4.39 and then the 4.40 beta. Immediately saw a bsod. Restarted to a "windows failed to start" error repair screen. Safe mode, last known good, and recovery modes all crash when loading speedfan.sys. Help!!

Hi! Here is new attributes used by Intel ssd's.
E1=225=Host Writes (LBA's written)
E8=232=Available Reserved Space
E9=233=Media Wearout Indicator

It would be good to show attribute numbers too in speedfan, not only for unknown but all

0001482: INTEL CORE temps reading about 8 degrees higher than with version 4.34

Just cleaned out the dust from my year old system and achieved about a 10 degree decrease in temperature. Upgraded to Speedfan 4.39 afterwards.

With version 4.39 core temperatures are reading high 40s when Core Temp 0.99.5 is showing low 40s. However for version 4.34 temperatures are within one degree of what's shown by Core Temp.

I have reverted to Speedfan 4.34

0001484: GPU temperature display fault

After upgrading the Nvidia GPU drivers form v190.62 to v191.07 Speedfan displayes the GPU temperature as 0 degrees Celcius.

I did a downgrade to v190.62 again and everything was fine again.
My GPUcard is a Asus ENGTX275.
